An enjoyable read; wish I had the nerve to take that first step... Having driven from the top to bottom of the UK several times, I realise how much I have missed.
Look forward to reading soem more of your tales.

Thanks very much - I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for taking the time to post; it's the feedback that makes all this worthwhile, so I appreciate it. 
I'm with you on Coopers - that's a good brew. I seem to rememember them doing a decent stout, too, though my memory is a bit hazy on that. Can't think why!
Then again, it was more than 15 years since I was last in Australia, so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised...
